It’s time to spread Christmas cheer
This article published on December 2015 in The Hindu deals with the western atmosphere of Christmas recreated on the traditional Christmas market of Pondicherry.
There are more than 6500 Frenchies and French-Indians in Pondicherry. Coming closer to the 25th of December, like over the last ten years, Amicale de Pondicherry group has been organizing a Christmas market. So, even seven thousand kilometers away from home, the group found a way to recreate the convivial atmosphere of Christmas.
Pondicherry’s people can wander between stalls; discovering local products and other Christmas gifts with their family. It’s like going back to childhood for some; a total new experience for others. This occasion gave to Sita, and othes, the opportunity to show their products.
Weather like place were perfect, people answered the invitation and were more cosmopolite than expected by organizers.
