sita pondy

Saturday, 21st September 2013 was the opening of SITA's shop in Pondicherry. You will now be able to keep in touch with the activities of our center through DIY care kits, spice packs to cook at home the recipes learnt in cooking classes, or to give an Indian touch to the cleaning and decorating of your home...
During the opening, tasting, hand workshops and quizzes enabled us to introduce our homemade products that everybody will enjoy!
Let's replay the day...

Take the quiz for a tailored care

ayur careSitakadai is first and foremost a combination of traditional Indian products, such as powders and oils to create your own Ayurveda cosmetics, and thus take care of your body, your hair, your face or your house, as well as massage oils that are designed to fit your body needs.
Throughout the event, you were able to answer the quiz to discover what is your constitution from Ayurveda medicine's point of view, so to know which massage oil to choose.

Kits of spices

Sitakadai also offers spice kits to make your own Indian recipe: the secrets of byriani, sambhar, kozhambu… are within your reach!

On the 21st of September, you could check out your knowledge in spices with our blindfolded test: the less adventurous ones just tried the "smell" and "look" parts of the quiz, while the most daring ones chose the "taste" part and tried to guess which spice they were tasting.

Oils and vinegars of your taste

The cooking section of SITAKADAI also offers perfumed oils and vinegars. This day was the occasion to use them! Food-lovers and gourmets gathered to taste our onion chutney made with mango vinegar, our pineapple chutney with coconut vinegar, our yoghurt cake with vanilla oil and finally, our chocolate cake with spicy oil...

Gifts to give... Gifts to keep

Our art and culture kits introduce you to Indian traditions. Mehendi, Kolam, Indian beauty, Little dancer and Indian kitsch deco kits will enable you, for instance, to make henna designs on your friends' hands and rice-powder drawings in front of your door...
During the event, free henna designs by Hema, our mehendi teacher, were very popular among all the participants no matter their ages.

The small handmade bags that contain the kits make Sitakadai's products unique. Children in the event could join the bag-making workshop : they made two bags and were able to bring back home one for free.

Another good day in SITA... Come and see us whenever you want and you, too, will discover the products of our new boutique !
