As we are used to for 2 years, we participate to this annual celebration, which gather Pondi shops, craftsmen, cooks, photographers as well as NGOs. This is always a nice opportunity to meet all together and to offer to the cosmopolitan Pondicherry people plenty of gifts for friends and family!
Initially, the Christmas Market was supposed to take place on Saturday, the 5th of December in Maison Colombani and not in Lycée Français because of the recent attacks in Paris. However, big rainfalls happened in Tamil Nadu and we had to deal with floodings, this is the reason why it was postponed one week after.
A sunny Sunday
Sun was shining, people were smiling and the good mood filled out Maison Colombani! Once setting our stand on the first floor, the market opened and we could meet our first visitors. Despite a quiet morning, people began to come around noon and the afternoon was pretty busy and full of friendliness, especially for our Henna Teacher...
The Mehendi Queen
Hema is our craft and Mehendi teacher at Sita. She joined us for the Christmas Market to offer Mehendi for every people who want to have a nice Indian or Arabic Henna designs on their hands. This was totally successful! Hema spent her day drawing on 32 different hands, for the happiness of adults as well as children.
A discovering Christmas
We also offer to the Christmas Market guests all our famous kits and oils, a nice gift to discover the Indian culture of food and beauty. Those products are rather popular and well known, especially from our punctual guests but this year, we had two exclusivities: the new yoga bags and aprons stamped Sita!
