Enamel passion and love for India
For several months, SITA has welcomed enamel workshop to create jewelry. Today, our teacher is back in France, which gives us the opportunity to address her a special article!
Delphine Geoffray is a French artist, who is self-taught to her passion: jewelry creation.
When she was a child, she used to make jewels out of everything, glass, shells, plastic or metal, everything was good for her to free her passion.
During the 90's, she met an enameller and thanks to this meeting, she realized how magic enamel was. That was when something clicked: she goes from a country to another to attend enamel workshops to fulfill her passion and perfect her technics.
In 1999, she creates her company, BIJOUX D'EMAIL, in Dordogne (South-West of France) and gets her seasonal shop settled in Monpazier.
Her love for enamel has been making her travel a lot to discover different technics and types of enamel. Nowadays, she uses enamel from USA, Japan, Hungary, France and India.
Her ideas, she takes them from works of artists like Miro, Lalique and Klimt. But her first inspiration sources come from nature, landscapes, multitude of colors surrounding her during her trips.
What about India? Well, that's the country where our artist and jewelry maker would like to settle down to keep on giving classes and open her shop!
So we had the chance, at SITA, to welcome Delphine's classes during several months during which students have been training in enamel jewelry creation. And end a trip with one's own-made jewel is not that usual!
We are waiting for her to come back and settle here and give enamel classes again!
